Anaerobic

Retaining – Rudolph Bros. & Co. offers a wide range of retaining compounds that increase the shear strength of cylindrical, non-threaded assemblies. Finding wide acceptance as a standard method for assembling press and slip-fitted parts, our retaining compounds fill the inner space between components and cure to form a strong precision assembly. Formulated in a selection of viscosities, gap filling ability, flexibility, and strength characteristics, our retaining compounds can be applied with automated process equipment or dispensed manually.

Threadlockers – Rudolph Bros. & Co. offers threadlockers that have found wide acceptance in a range of applications – from delicate electronic components to heavy construction equipment. All of our products are single component which cure in the absence of air by metal ions. When cured they polymerize to high molecular weight plastics. All of our products are available in varying viscosities and strengths for virtually any application, including exposure to extreme environments.

Cyanoacrylate

Rudolph Bros. & Co. offers the widest selection of high-performance, application-specific, instant adhesives in the country. All of our Cyanoacrylate adhesives are available in a variety of viscosities, cure speeds, gap-filling capabilities, and substrate compatibilities. Here are just a few of the advantages to our product line:

  • Greater consistency of performance through innovative product packaging, which improves adhesive stability and shelf-life, and stringent quality guidelines to assure reliability.
  • An extensive platform of ester bases and viscosities to expand the range of bondable substrates.
  • Expertise to provide specialty formulated products for special applications.
  • Unique chemistry of our product line improves bond performance with faster set speeds, greater flexibility, and higher temperature and impact resistance.
  • A world-class team of sales, service, and technical professionals to assist you with making the right adhesive choice.

Epoxies

Epoxy adhesives are preferred throughout the world for high-strength structural bonding of metals, thermoplastics, thermosetting composites, and metal-to-plastic substrates with differing coefficients of thermal expansion. With recent advances in formulating chemistries, today’s epoxies also include toughened systems that offer good flexibility for bonding materials such as sheet molding compound, fiberglass-reinforced plastics and substrates that will be subject to vibration. These same toughened epoxies provide for excellent long-term adhesion on joints exposed to environmental extremes. Rudolph Bros. & Co. supplies epoxies with a diverse range of handling and performance characteristics including:

  • One and two-component materials
  • Wide range of viscosities from liquids to pastes
  • Work lives from 9 seconds to two hours
  • Low shrinkage
  • Lap shear strengths in the 2,000 to 4,000 psi range
  • Service temperatures up to 350°F
  • Good resistance to chemicals, oils and solvents
  • Our epoxy systems have been selected for repair, maintenance and assembly applications in markets ranging from recreation, marine, and automotive to appliances, business equipment and electronic device production.

Our advanced epoxies are also easier to mix and dispense than ever before. Many of the systems we provide are formulated with a 1:1 mix ratio to help minimize the possibility of inaccurate weighing and incomplete mixing and permit packaging in dual-barrel cartridges.

Methacrylate

Many of today’s product designs combine conventional materials such as steel, aluminum, FRP, and wood with high-tech plastics, composites, alloys, and blends. Rudolph Bros. & Co. line of structural Methacrylate adhesives are specifically formulated to produce durable, high-performance bonds over a wide range of varied substrates including today’s most advanced difficult-to-bond plastics. All of our Methacrylate adhesives provide excellent durability and resistance to moisture and solvents.

Most of our two-component Methacrylate adhesives are combined in either 1:1 or 10:1 ratios, allowing them to be mixed and dispensed using hand-held cartridge dispensers or meter-mix and dispense equipment. Rudolph Bros. & Co. Methacrylate adhesives can be used without surface preparation; no sanding, grinding, or other processes. Because they require no primers, our adhesives obviate the need for solvents, as well as the environmental concerns associated with their use. By eliminating primers and surface preparation, our Methacrylate adhesives dramatically reduce application and overall production times. All of our Methacrylate adhesives cure at room temperature which helps streamline your process, shortening assembly times and eliminating production processes and equipment

Silicone

Rudolph Bros. & Co. offers a broad range of silicone adhesive/sealants which are liquids or pastes that cure to a strong, durable, resilient silicone rubber at room temperature on exposure to atmospheric moisture. Our adhesive/sealants are formulated to provide excellent adhesion to many different substrates and are ideal materials for bonding, sealing, or coating applications. Besides excellent adhesion, they also have high elongation and high tear strength to absorb stresses caused by substrates with dissimilar coefficients of thermal expansion or by substrates with a wide range of mechanical motion.

All of our one part adhesive/sealants show good adhesion to almost all materials except polyolefin and polytetra-fluoroethylene resins. Adhesion can be improved by following pretreatment with suitable primers. They are available in Paste-Consistency grades as well as Pourable/Self-Leveling grades. Paste grades will flow only with external pressure; they may be applied on horizontal, vertical or overhead surfaces. They will also adhere to small objects while the cure takes place. They are designed for industrial production applications such as sealing parts, adhering components or formed-in-place gasketing. Self-leveling grades are in the form of pourable liquids which will flow out and self-level on a surface. The viscosity of these products makes them ideally suited for protective coatings, filling small surface voids or for potting where thin section filling is required.

Rudolph Bros. & Co. also supplies High Strength Adhesive/Sealants. These adhesive/sealants are specifically designed for mechanical applications where high strength is required; these products offer our customers approximately twice the mechanical bond strength of the standard grade adhesive/sealants.

For electrical/electronic applications, we offer Noncorrosive, Low Odor Adhesive/Sealants. These are used in applications where neutral cure by-products, which will not cause discoloration or corrosion of copper or other sensitive metals, are required.

High Temperature Adhesive/Sealants are also available. Designed for extremely high temperature performance, these products are specially formulated and processed to perform at temperatures to 500° F continuous operation and to 600°F for short periods, with relatively little change in physical properties.

Many of our adhesive/sealants conform to various military and commercial specifications.

Urethane

Polyurethanes are renowned for their outstanding bonding capabilities, including excellent flexibility and durability in joining substrates such as rigid plastics, polyolefins, polycarbonate, nylon, Metton®, sheet molding compounds and fiberglass-reinforced plastics and metal to plastic assemblies. The adhesives can be used with minimal substrate preparation. Recent advances in urethane technology have yielded two-component systems with improved low-temperature flexibility, hydrolytic stability and sag resistance as well as a broader range or work lives, cure temperatures and packaging options. Rudolph Bros. & Co. offers a wide range of polyurethane adhesives featuring:

  • Wide range of viscosities
